The Salvation Army in Buffalo is asking you to help brighten Christmas morning for a local family. Your support allows our organization to assist those in need during the holidays and throughout the year. This year more than 150 families will be helped through this program.
The Sponsored Family Program is designed to serve less fortunate families who are unable to provide toys, dinner and other gifts for their family during the holiday season. These families face a variety of unfortunate circumstances ranging from limited incomes, prolonged or terminal illnesses, to the loss of personal belongings because of disaster. Families may come to The Salvation Army requesting items such as food for Christmas dinner, toys, clothes and household items.
Individuals, groups and corporations can volunteer to sponsor an entire Christmas for a local family. Sponsors will be matched up with anonymous families There is a deadline which allows sponsors enough time to shop prior to their drop off dates.
Sponsored Family recipients are determined to be eligible for the Sponsored Family Program based on specific criteria set by The Salvation Army Emergency Family Assistance Program (EFA). The caseworkers at EFA have extensive experience in working with families needing assistance, so you can be assured the families selected for the Sponsored Family Program have truly demonstrated their need.
