On Wednesday, November 6, The Salvation Army held the 2019 Red Kettle Luncheon – the official kickoff of the Red Kettle Season. Each year, this event serves as a celebration of the accomplishments and achievements from the past year and honors those who are making a different in our community.
The Community Volunteer of the Year award recognizes a volunteer who has gone above and beyond the normal role of a volunteer and acts as an extension of The Salvation Army. The 2019 Community Volunteer of the Year is Alice Miranda.
Alice has been volunteering with The Salvation Army for over 10 years. Equipped with a smile, she is always willing to help with any task that needs to be done. She’s the kind of volunteer that calls about an upcoming event or project before it’s even promoted.
This year, Alice is taking the lead for National Realtor Ring Day – the first Friday of December, The Salvation Army of Buffalo and Buffalo Niagara Association of Realtors work together to fill our mall kettle stand locations with local realtors.
Over the years, Alice has been a regular for our Toy Shoppe, Homeless Street Feeding, and of course bell ringing with her husband, Mike.
Congratulations Alice and thank you for your continued support of our program and mission!
